"This is Venus Flytrap, here to brighten, tighten, and enlighten your starlight hours," quoth the evening DJ at WKRP in Cincinnati. Once the TV show had left primetime and gone into syndication it made quite a splash on the local independent station in my city. A real-life DJ on a real-life radio station (whose playlist was not dissimilar to WKRP's) remarked at the time that the program was closer to reality than the general public realized (though that's likely changed over the 20 years hence, years which have seen radio reach its lowest ebb). I loved the show no end, but I will not be purchasing the DVD. Copyright chaos and royalty payment insanity forced various pop songs to be replaced. Those songs were integral to the stories! Les Nessman putting on his toupee without Hot Blooded playing on the overhead speaker? Off with their heads!
By the way, the best end theme ever. Meow.
