damage control

I had elected to refrain from posting anything regarding 9/11. It seemed to me that there were plenty of other places giving the anniversary proper attention, and I feared that a place as regularly preposterous as mine would make any reference to the events of 2001 seem an exercise in flippancy. Well, it looks as if I'll be making a mention after all. Yesterday's art image featuring a tri-ocular cranial-flaming whatsit peering at prettily presented news events was in no way meant to pertain to the events which occured in New York on September 11, 2001, nor the news coverage which followed. What I post on a given day is often the result of an eeny-meenie-miney-moe method of selection, so it was by sheer happenstance that such an image's appearance coincided with the anniversary of tragic events. If anyone was confused, distressed and/or offended I apologize profusely for a stupid mistake! With apologies to Eric Burdon, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good, oh, Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.

the painting was, by the way, completed without incident

It's been over a year ago that a particularly hairy design of mine made its way onto the coveted Threadless chest space. At that time I was interviewed by one of the staff for possible inclusion in the artist interview section. The interview, however, never appeared at the Threadless site, so I forgot all about it. I was asked to contribute a piece of art (or two) to accompany the interview, but because I assumed I had been sent to File 13 the art was incorporated into later design submissions.

Fast forward to today, and, what do you know, there I am. Does this mean the sasquatch is destined for a reprint? C'mon, baby, papa needs a new pair of shoes!
