15 colors or less

Though it's been a while since it's received an update, DSicons.com remains open for (deceptively narrowly focused raison d'être) business. Yes, if you own a DS and play Mario Kart there are heaps of interesting pretties for adorning your hood, but for every 3-step template there's an accompanying 32x32 pixel GIF for use however you desire (some restrictions apply). Obviously, I likely wouldn't be making mention of these Nintendish pixellations if it weren't that a heap of them were pixelled by yours truly. Faves, followed by commentary:

row 1: all hail the King!; the aroma of coffee is absolutely heavenly, but its taste is just the opposite, and four bucks per serving is daffy; I enjoy the good doctor's soda pop so much that I often jokingly refer to it as medicinal (though no one ever laughs at my joke); once I got wind of the giant robots stomping all over Japan, the American automatons that could transform into cars, trucks, jets, a pistol, and a Sony Cassette Walkman suddenly held zero appeal
row 2: I have to sit down before thinking about that big red storm because if I were standing my deep pondering might make me woozy; the dead level coolest CGI creation from the entire Jacksonian take on Tolkien; Klaatu barada nikto!; I'd have to buy a completely new wardrobe before I could walk around with one in my hand, but since it's an unpleasant liquid I get to hang onto these comfortable rags
row 3: Mexican masked wrestling doesn't interest me, but I have seen the 1971 film "Santo y Blue Demon Contra Dracula y el Hombre Lobo" and I could not look away from it; I'd like to get you on a slow boat to China; when I owned a cream yellow 1970 Volkswagen Beetle I often considered two possible vanity plates for it, either 1DERBUG or POORSH (yes, I realize that's a mispronunciation); I sat in the theater watching Return of the Jedi during its initial release, thinking to myself how the droids got short shrift so kiddies could be pandered to aplenty with those infernal teddy bears
row 4: I didn't need a smug documentary to tell me that I shouldn't frequent the Mickey D's; 1970's scifi seemed a lot better back when I was a young dunce of a wee lad; it's still the pause that refreshes; sometimes I wonder whether I should have pursued a career in egyptology
row 5: I'd never purchase one (especially because I don't own a PC) but I love the logo, and competition, in the digital music market and elsewhere, is always a healthy thing; whatever happened to all the really groovy hi-fi systems employed by the coolest of swinging cats?; the choice of a new generation, but too childish for my thirst; who could have foreseen what Bushnell had wrought?

locomotion

I once took a long distance trip by train. I can't recall the exact length of the ride, but both the going there and the coming home again began in the afternoon and ended the next morning. Besides meeting interesting strangers on the train, I got to better know the people with whom I was travelling and also found them a fascinating batch. The experience was surprisingly similar to those cinema scenes of train travel from days gone by - except I didn't have one of those curtained bunks and had to sleep in my seat. The only real negative of the ride was the food. I was full of happy anticipation as I entered the dining car for the first time, but the repast was pricey and absolutely atrocious. A kind acquaintance with wise foresight was similarly dismayed and shared with me some of the snacks she'd packed. A lovely time it was! I must do it again. Why haven't I done it again?

NO POST TODAY

... as I ponder how yet another revolution of the earth around the sun has brought even closer my eventual and inevitible physical finality. Pondering it, that is, over an ever so small slice of tasty cake!

Weren't we just talking about tshirts? No matter. My ladies-only signature tee is ready to roll!

And in case the subject is broached once again: If you're a guy and you want to wear it, I couldn't care less. But be advised that the tshirt was designed (both art-wise and stitch-wise) for the fairer sex.
